BioEco-Quant - Data collection on bioeconomy

There are some rather arbitrary data and information collections that are widely used to illustrate the impact and importance of bioeconomy. However, there is lack of specific, reliable and cleanly referenced socio-economic data and information on bioeconomy, or these data are disaggregated. Therefore, the main goal of this white paper is to collect and develop a comprehensive collection of socio-ecomic data and information to which the further development of the bioeconomy in Europe should contribute and a clean and scientifically referenced collection of data. The collection of data and information will be centred around three pillars:

1. Economic and social data and information related to the bioeconomy at sectoral level,
2. research activities in academia and industry and
3. skills, and knowledge transfer data and information.

This collection will help BioSC and other stakeholders in decision making, proposal preparation as well as a general information platform.
