Ladies and gentlemen,
the Science Year 2020 - Bioeconomy has got off to a successful start. There are numerous interesting contributions nationwide, many of them on the Internet. In this newsletter we present two contributions from Core Groups of the BioSC.
At the beginning of the year 2020, the BioSC focused on the topic of raw material sources and their implementation in a sustainable recycling economy. Two BioSC events dealt with how such diverse and heterogeneous raw materials as biomass, CO2 and plastic waste can be chemically and biotechnologically broken down and then processed into new high-quality materials and chemicals. From the Institute of Textile Technology at RWTH Aachen University, we present examples of the use of new materials in the textile industry. And finally, we would like to highlight the first three SEED FUND 2.0 projects that were completed in phase 2 of the NRW strategy project BioSC.
