Ladies and gentlemen,
at the end of September 2010, the founding contract for the Bioeconomy Science Center was signed. RWTH Aachen University, the Universities of Bonn and Düsseldorf and Forschungszentrum Jülich established a cross-institutional and interdisciplinary cooperation in basic and applied research for the transformation to a sustainable bioeconomy, which is still unique today. In the current issue of the newsletter we review the development and the achievements of the BioSC.
Ten years after the foundation of the BioSC, Bioeconomy is the topic of the current Science Year. The BioSC is involved in an exhibit on the exhibition ship MS Wissenschaft, which we present here. We also report on the International BioSC Summer School „From plants to pilot plant“, which took place in August as a virtual format, and present three new projects. And we point out that for the seventh time the BioSC Supervision Award has been announced, which honors young scientists for special achievements in supervising doctoral students. Proposals can be submitted until November 13.
The International BioSC Symposium can unfortunately not take place at the usual time in November this year. It will now take place as a hybrid event on March 5, 2021. Please save the date.
We wish you an interesting read!
