Ladies and gentlemen,
in the first BioSC newsletter issue in 2018 we look back on some successful events in 2017. Moreover we present another junior research group and we report on a BMBF project that evolved from a BioSC project.
During the last months the BioSC was present at several external events. Dr. Holger Klose gave a talk on the FocusLab AP3 at the Colloquium Sustainable BioEconomy at the KIT. Dr. Felix Jakob, leader of the FocusLabs greenRelease, gained recognition with a talk on microgels at the CLIB Conference. At the International Plant Fair in Essen, the project InducTomE met an interested audience. For the general public, a lecture and an information booth at the RWTH Science Night were prepared in particular by the Core Groups Prof. Björn Usadel and Prof. Uwe Conrath.
One highlight in 2018 will be the Global Bioeconomy Summit on 19th und 20th April in Berlin, organised by the German Bioeconomy Council. With several Core Groups, the BioSC is involved in the organisation of three GBS workshops. Some BioSC events are being planned as well, particularly the next Spotlight about Phosphate Recycling on 5th June in Aachen and the 3rd International BioSC Symposium on 12th and 13th November in Bonn.
We hope you enjoy reading!
