2. BioSC Spotlight: Alternative paths of utilisation of the streaky Silphie

On the 1st of September, 2017 a BioSC Spotlight about the low-input plant Silphie takes place at Campus Klein-Altendorf in Bonn. BioSC scientists and external experts will present their latest results and discuss current developments regarding cultivation and utilisation of Silphie. The event will be in German. Registration is open!

18. BioSC Lecture „Inspired by nature - Development of sustainable flavour modifiers“

The BioSC lecture on "Inspired by nature - Development of sustainable flavour modifiers" will be given on the 4th of August 11.30 am at Forschungszentrum Jülich by Dr. Jakob Ley, Director Ingredient Research Flavour & Nutrition at Symrise AG. Dr. Ley is group leader for the development of aroma and taste modulation compounds.

The bioeconomy is supported increasingly by federal and countries

The German Bioeconomy Council invites federal state representatives to exchange information

Numerous federal states promote the development of the bioeconomy with their own programmes and initiatives. Politics and science representatives of ten federal states met at the invitation of the German Bioeconomy Council in Berlin. In addition to, federal bioeconomy strategies specific for country, regional and land-covering research groups as well as social dialogue were the centre of focus. Besides, it becomes clear: The bioeconomy in Germany is already strong due to the network of the national and regional initiatives, but improved understanding is necessary.

Tender for the Supervision Award

This year again, BioSC will award young researchers. With the BioSC Supervision Award, the Bioeconomy Science Center (BioSC) is thus awarding young academics for special achievements with regard to the quality of their supervision of doctoral students in the BioSC Core Groups.
