Der Anteil der erneuerbaren Energie in den Bereichen Strom, Wärme und Verkehr muss weiter ausgebaut werden, um die nationalen und internationalen Klimaziele zu erreichen. Dabei können auch Ressourcen aus Zucker, Stärke, Cellulose, Lignine, Fette und Pflanzenöle zu sogenannten „biobasierten Grundstoffen“ und in der Folge dann zu Produkten des alltäglichen Gebrauchs verarbeitet werden – die dazu noch Energie speichern. Darüber hinaus ermöglicht das Konzept der Agrar-Photovoltaik die gleichzeitige Nutzung von Flächen für die land-

MECP2020 in Aachen will highlight recently identified novel catalysts and catalytic combinations to synthesize chemical products.
