Under the joint direction of Ali Abdelshafy and Prof. Dr. Grit Walther (work package 3.2) and project leader Prof. Dr. Sandra Venghaus, an expert workshop was organized on December 13, 2021. The event titled „Envisaging the future of the bioeconomy in North Rhine-Westphalia“ served for discussing regional development potentials of the bioeconomy together with experts.

On December 6, 2021, the project partners met virtually for the final project meeting of 2021. We discussed the state of the individual work packages and worked on overarching topics such as the development of transformation scenarios for the Rheinische Revier.

On December 1, 2021, project members took part in the Wirtschaftsforum, which was organized for the third time already by the coordination office BioökonomieRevier. Project leader Prof. Dr. Sandra Venghaus presented Transform2Bio in an introductory round of innovation drivers in the region.

In November 2021, Transform2Bio could welcome a new team member. Master student Pia Hilgert (studying Bioeconomy at the University of Hohenheim) will take on the overarching task of developing scenarios for the bioeconomy in the Rheinische Revier and will adapt these for her Master thesis.
